Anahid Shahrik, Social Media Strategist

Anahid is a versatile public relations executive with more than 15 years experience serving national and local clients in a variety of industries including arts and entertainment, hospitality, food and beverage, consumer products, lifestyle, financial institutions, and publishing.

She is a seasoned producer creating corporate videos, infomercials and public service campaigns. Anahid is also a journalist for Splash Magazine Worldwide, an online magazine with 1 million visitors per month, covering arts and entertainment, travel and tourism and luxury lifestyles.

Anahid is a detailed and dynamic communicator and storyteller. She is a media relations expert, integrating traditional and social media strategies to secure placements creating maximum presence for clients. She is skilled in identifying targets, establishing relationships and converting them into meaningful coverage for brands, specifically within the social media landscape, user-generated content sites and other related web-based environments. Her social media expertise also includes creating and publishing shareable digital content for user-generated media services such as blogs, video, audio podcasts, photos and online press rooms. She has created and managed social media programs for a number of clients including national non-profits, technology and web-based start-ups.

Anahid began her career in radio at WBZ Radio in Boston as producer for talk show staples Dave Maynard and Larry Glick and award-winning issues oriented hosts Peter Meade and David Brudnoy securing interviews with former presidents, heads of state, renowned authors, politicians and entertainers. Among them President Jimmy Carter and White House Chief of Staff Donald Regan.

Broadcast led to a career in PR managing government accounts and producing national public service TV, radio and print campaigns for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Institute of Mental Health, the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports where she produced a series of national TV and radio spots with then council president Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Anahid continued her work in PR supervising accounts including Citibank, Old Navy and Tumi Luggage and as senior publicist producing satellite media tours for renowned authors including Arthur Agatston of The South Beach Diet fame and Mireille Guiliano who penned French Women Don't Get Fat.

Anahid received her BA in Communications with a minor in English and Economics at Simmons College in Boston.
